Smithsonian Patent Office Building
Washington, D.C.

Larson Engineering was part of the team that designed the enclosure of the existing courtyard. The 130 x 280 foot courtyard is enclosed by a 90-foot high glass and steel self supporting space frame. Surrounded on all four sides by the historic Patent Office Building, the roof is composed of three interconnected vaults that flow into one another through softly curved valleys.
