The Larson Engineering Rail Division has broad expertise in project planning, design, and engineering of Ports, Intermodal and Transload Facilities. Larson Engineering is an active participant of AREMA Committee 14 for Yards and Terminals and Sub Committee 4 for Intermodal Terminal. Our active engagement in the industry, along with your team participation, will result in the optimal solution for your project.
Experience
Develop and evaluate alternative track layouts and select the most viable and feasible rail solution for Transload operations
Full compliance with FRA, AREMA, ports and servicing railroad standards, approval process mandated by the railroad
Experienced in design and reviews of rail component in ports and terminals

Short Term and Long Range planning and analysis of operations including solutions targeting increase of performance and capacity, and reduction of maintenance costs
Site evaluation and value engineering for future facility construction
Reconstruction, recommissioning and conversion of existing yards for intermodal service
Track design, corridor and yard modelling

Integrating rail operations into the global concept of operations specific for each site
Coordination and approval process with railroads providing services to the facility
