Army Aviation Support Facility
St. Cloud, MN
Larson Engineering provided structural design services on this $35 million aviation facility for the Minnesota Army National Guard.
This steel framed building provides for the maintenance and repair of aircraft and includes an 84,000 square foot hangar, repair shop, supply building and administrative offices.
Especially noteworthy are the large steel trusses in the hangar area, used to create an expansive open space with only two interior columns.
The project was designed under the military’s SPiRiT program to receive a SPiRiT Gold, which is the equivalent of the LEED progam’s Silver certification level.
