The Elmslie Building
Aurora, IL
Purchased and restored by the City of Aurora as municipal department offices, this building was built in approximately 1925 and designed by George Grant Elmslie utilizing Prairie Style architecture. Restoration of the exterior façade was required as well as repairs to the existing floor framing due to water damage and fire damage. The project also required various interior renovations to bring the building up to code. Included in this is the addition of an elevator that required reinforcement of the floor structure. Larson Engineering's work included assessment of the existing building structure, recommendations for repairs and design of the renovations.
