Teweles Seed Building
Milwaukee, WI
Teweles Seed Company was an agricultural seed dealer in the early 1900s, selling by the bag to the public and storing bulk seed in concrete bins built into the thirteen-story building. The company ceased operations in the mid 1950s, and the building has essentially been unoccupied since then.
Located in what is now the historic 3rd Ward in Milwaukee, the structure is entirely composed of reinforced concrete. The building was renovated and converted into 150 condominiums and rental units with parking on the first two floors.
Larson Engineering was retained to provide structural analysis of the existing structure to ensure that it is sound for its new purpose and to provide structural design services for the penthouse space at the top of the building.
