Centennial Public Schools Athletic Facility
Circle Pines, MN
Larson Engineering transformed a natural turf field into a synthetic turf field with state-of-the-art features. The field is striped to support the sports of football, soccer and lacrosse. The entire turf field perimeter has a manicured nailer curb that nicely defines the field from the track. Stormwater management was not only incorporated into the landscaping, but into the subgrade of the field in order to control quantity, quality and volume of stormwater runoff.
Larson Engineering was involved with the project from inception through completion. Work was coordinated with the school district staff, including the Superintendent, Business Manager, High School Principal, Athletic Director and coaches to make sure the athletic facilities met the needs of the school district. In addition to working closely with the school district staff Larson Engineering coordinated the design with the City of Circle Pines, Rice Creek Watershed and Minnesota Pollution Control Agency prior to and during design. Larson Engineering developed construction costs, conducted presentations to school district staff and prepared plans and specifications. Follow-up construction observation was performed and project close-out documents were completed.
