Becker High School Additions and Site Improvements
Becker, MN
The pool and auditorium addition included parking expansions and athletic improvements. The main parking lot was reconstructed and expanded into an existing infiltration basin. An underground retention system consisting of 8 rows of 78"-diameter aluminized, corrugated steel pipe was installed beneath the parking lot. A volume of 0.75 million gallons is provided in the system.
An adjacent infiltration basin was also enlarged to assist in the stormwater management of the runoff from the new impervious surfaces created with the project and the existing city street that drains onto the school property. Together the infiltration basin and the underground retention system will filter the runoff from back-to-back 100-year storm events in the naturally occurring sandy soils.
